CARING FOR SILKS:
Silk is a natural fiber. Imperfections in the weave of the silk fabric are part
of the natural beauty of silk and should not be considered defects. For best
results we advise hand washing your silk garments in cool water using a mild
detergent specially formulated for silk care. Products like "L'Blanc and "Forever
New" are highly recommended. After washing, it is very important to rinse
the garment thoroughly in cold water. After rinsing do not wring. Instead, lay
in a towel, roll up and gently squeeze out the moisture. Lay flat or line dry
but do not place in the sun. When the garment is almost dry, turn it inside out
and press with a clean, warm steam iron. It is important to use steam when pressing
your silks, as the moisture will return the soft silky texture to your garment.
Never use bleach or products using bleach. Dry cleaning is also recommended.
However, please let your dry cleaner know that the garment is made from silk,
so that the appropriate solution will be used.
CARING FOR COTTONS:
Our "Nightie Nite" sleepwear and robes are made in China from high-quality
medium-weight brushed cotton flannel. They are generously proportioned to allow
for maximum shrinkage. Garments should shrink up to 5% in both length and width
after a few washings. For best results, machine wash your flannels in warm water
on the gentle cycle, using a detergent that does not contain bleach. Tumble dry
low. Our flannels will become softer and even more comfortable after washing
and drying. Should they need pressing, it is best to use a clean steam iron at
a moderate setting.
